朝より暖。飛駒、１１時の外気温は１１.５度。室温１２度。午前中薪割。昼に至るも、来客無。雑草取り、ミントの枯れた茎を刈払い、周辺をこざっぱりさせる。ヨーコさんがこの頃、よくやっていたのを思い出した次第。陶芸家夫妻より新鮮なヤリイカ恵まれる。梅の蕾を確認したが、明日辺りは咲くような気配がある。
Warmth from morning. Hikoma, the outside temperature at 11 o’clock is 11.5

Even noon, no visitors. Get out in the garden and weed out. Cut the mint’s
withered stalk and make the surroundings rough. I remembered that Yoko
was doing well this time. A fresh squid is blessed by the potters and the
couple. I checked the plum buds, but there are signs that they will bloom
around tomorrow.
「紅葉する老年」と云う言葉が好き。老年期、戸惑うことばかり。孫の名前がとっさに出てこない！愛用するお店の名前も失念！探し物で、部屋に入ったら、目的を失念！と、悩ましいこの頃なのであります。一方、巷では、「人生１００歳時代」と言うフレーズを耳にします。「そんな事は学校では教わりませんでした」などと、愚痴めいたことを言っても仕方がない・・・・。
後２６年でそこに到達してしまう！店で立ち働いていると、「よく頑張ってますねぇ！」と、人様に褒められる事もある。こういう時は、気分爽快、元気が出るのであります。これはそんな老輩の日々を綴るものです。
