今日より二月だ！久しぶりに朝寝をして、昼に至り、館林の福吉にて飯。帰宅後、読書、午睡。他、特に記す事無。
It is February than today! I went to bed late for the first time in a long
time, arrived at noon, and dinner at Fukuyosi in Tatebayashi. After going
home, reading, sleeping. Other, nothing to mention especially.

終日、休息。一月は今日でお終いだ。この一月は中旬より寒気が到来して、寒い事頻りであった。他、特に記す事無。

飛駒、１１時の外気温は、６．５度。昨夜、少し雪が降ったようだ。足利より、店に向かう途中の峠、日陰は凍っている。昼を過ぎて予約のお客さん来。暖炉の前に席を拵え、一時を愉しんでもらう。

飛駒、朝８時の外気温は－１度。１２時の外気温は５度。４時には３度。今年の冬はとてつもなく寒い。しかし、自分では、余程の事が無い限り自転車で通勤すると決めたから、この寒さにも耐えなければならない・・・・。今日のお客さん達も暖炉の暖かさを堪能していく。

今朝の東京の最低気温は－３度で、埼玉県は－８度であったと言う。今朝はそういう寒さであった為が、お休みなので、ぐっすり眠ってしまった。陽射しを浴びて遅い朝食をとり、午前中は部屋の掃除。昼、ボンゴレを拵え飯。午後、やはり陽射しを浴びて読書。そとは風が強く吹いているようであった。終日家の中でで過ごす。

朝より晴れ。TVで頻りに、今年最大の寒波だと報。東京の最低気温は－４度であった。日中も最高気温は４度だと言う。陽射しを浴び読書をしながら、「よおし！それでは、其の寒波を体験してみようではないか！」と思い立ち、自転車に乗り、佐野市の森田屋を目指す。渡良瀬川橋上に至り、堤を東行。西風を受けて快適に走れる。森田屋を出たのは２時であった。店に忘れ物をしたことを思い出し、店に向かう。西風頻りに吹き、極めて寒。しかし、しでに、店まで１４キロの地点まで来てしまったのであるから、このまま進む他に道はないのだ・・・・。熱線入りの手袋をはめている手も寒さでかじかんできた。感覚もなくなっている。さらに、寒風を受ける。去年も冬に自転車で飛駒に通勤していたが、こんな寒さの経験はない。４時、目出度く店に到着。尿意を模様して、庭の奥に駆け込み、手袋を外して、チャックを下そうと思ったが、手がかじかんでいるので、指先が効かない！仕方がないので、ズボンのベルトを外して、ズボンを尻まで下し、ようやく用を足す事が出来た次第・・・・。

天気予報の通り、極めて寒。熱線入り手袋使用していても、１時間半後、店に到着したときは、手がかじかんでしまった。１１時半の外気温は１度。暖炉に火を入れ頻りに燃す。２時に至り、予約のお客様が来。ヨーコさんの病の事などを話題に、暫し歓談。帰宅後、TVを観ると、この寒さは暫く続くと謂うではないか！驚くべし！

昔から、雪の翌日は「裸っ児の日向ぼっこ」という喩の通り、陽射しのよい日だ。午前中は室内の掃除をして後、読書。昼に至り、周辺の道路状況を見てみようと思い、館林に出掛け、福吉にて飯。この店は創業４４年だ。周辺の道路は概ね雪が解けている。帰宅後、陽射しを浴びながら暫し読書。草津の白根山も噴火したと謂うではないか！驚くべし、驚くべし！
